Abstract

POLìMEROS ELETROQUIMICAMENTE DEGRADáVEIS. A presente invenção refere-se a materiais poliméricos que incorporam uma porção de quinona modificada, para reticular o polímero ou como uma unidade monomérica do polímero. Estes materiais poliméricos podem ser eficientemente degradados através de redução eletroquímica da quinona levando à hidrólise rápida dos grupos químicos pendentes e degradação do polímero. As composições contendo quinona e os métodos de produzir polímeros eletroquimicamente degradáveis são descritos. Os métodos e as composições da presente invenção podem ser usados em uma variedade ampla de aplicações, incluindo, mas não limitadas a, liberação de fármaco, regeneração tecidual, implantes biomédicos, e sistemas eletrónicos.
