Abstract
TOLERÂNCIA AO ESTRESSE EM PLANTAS ATRAVÉS DA INIBIÇçO SELETIVA DA TREALOSE-6-FOSFATO FOSFATASE. A presente invenção se refere a plantas transgênicas que compreendem uma molécula de DNA isolada compreendendo um polinucleotideo que codifica um ácido nuclélco que regula para menos um gene T6PP endógeno, em que o polinucleotideo está sob o controle de um promotor que pode ser induzido por estresse e é expresso predominantemente no tecido vegetativo. O promotor pode ainda ser expresso em relação ao desenvolvimento em grãos em maturação. A expressão do polinucleotídeo resulta na maior disponibilidade de carbono aos florícuíos/grãos quando as plantas são submetidas ao estresse ambiental, tal como um déficit hídrico. A molécula de DNA da invenção permite assim que mais produto da fotossíntese seja direcionado para os óvulos/embriões em desenvolvimento resultando no rendimento estabilizado nos ambientes de cultivo que estão sujeitos ao estresse periódico.
