São previstos um dispositivo de troca de calor (10) e um método de compensar os aumentos de pressão nos tubos (20) dentro do dispositivo de troca de calor. O dispositivo de troca de calor (10) compreende uma pluralidade de tubos (20) para transportar um primeiro meio (40) e meios comprimíveis (60) inseríveis em pelo menos um dos tubos (20). A expansão dos ditos meios (40) leva os ditos meios (60) a se comprimir. Preferencialmente os meios comprimíveis (60) compreendem material elástico inerte.
