Abstract

LIGAÇçO DE UM DISPOSITIVO A UM COMPUTADOR. Trata-se de um dispositivo, tal como um componente ou um periférico e de um computador correspondente que são adaptados para ser ligados, tal que o dispositivo só irá operar com aquele computador após o processo de ligação. Mensagens criptográficas são enviadas entre o dispositivo e o computador para confirmar a relação. Quando o dispositivo não puder confirmar que ele está operando com o computador anteriormente ligado, o dispositivo reduz sua própria capacidade de operação para se tornar substancialmente sem utilidade, até ser desligado daquele computador ou uma confirmação bem sucedida acontecer. Métodos para operação, ligação e desligamento também são descritos.
