Abstract
COMPàSITOS TERMOPLÁSTICOS COM CAPACIDADES DE ABSORÇçO DE SOM. Um material de compósito formado de fibras de reforço, fibras de realce acústico tal como fibras de tereftalato de polietileno (PET) ou fibras de tereftalato de polietileno modificadas, e uma ou mais fibras orgânicas, é fornecido. A fibra de realce acústico pode ser qualquer fibra que forneça absorbância acústica realçada ou aumentada, particularmente em baixas freqúências. O material de compósito pode ser formado por fibras de reforço úmidas parcialmente abertas, fibras de reforço acústico, e fibras orgânicas, misturando as fibras de reforço, realce acústico, e orgânicas, formando as fibras em uma folha, e ligando as fibras na folha. Preferivelmente as fibras de reforço são as fibras de vidro de filamento picado de uso úmido. O material de compósito pode ser formado de uma camada única de fibras de reforço, fibras de realce acústico, e fibras orgânicas. Alternativamente, o material de compósito pode ser um compósito de multi-camadas no qual as fibras de realce acústico estão localizadas em uma camada acústica laminada por uma camada térmica formada das fibras orgânicas e fibras de reforço.
