Abstract
PROCESSO ELETROIDROMETALúRGICO ALCALINO PARA A EXTRAçãO DE ZINCO A PARTIR DE Pó DE FORNO ELéTRICO. O processo objeto desta invenção produz pá de zinco de alta pureza e fina granulometria a partir do pó de forno elétrico (EAF dust) mediante as etapas convencionais de lixiviação alcalina, cementação e eletrode-posição, mas introduzindo melhoras, modificações e novas operações. Estas mudanças minimizam o consumo de água, evitam a geração de resíduos líquidos e minimizam a geração de emissões de gases e material particulado, reduzindo a contaminação ambiental a níveis inferiores aos exigidos pelas normativas, o que é imprescindível para a materialização do processo. A fina granulometria do pó de zinco se logra com o uso de um equipamento de eletrodeposição não convencional, que, além disso, elimina a contaminação gasosa nesta operação. Também contribuem para este último, equipamentos e práticas operacionais especialmente introduzidas para o efeito, tanto no transporte e lixiviação do pá como na purificação da solução de zincato. O consumo de água se minimiza efetuando todos os lavados de sólidos no processo, em etapas de contracorrente ou em correntes cruzadas, e recuperando e reciclando a água, o que, além disso, elimina a geração de resíduos líquidos ("planta seca"). Além disso, se introduz um procedimento para a inertização da ganga, que a valoriza como material de construção, e outro para a eliminação do arsênico das correntes líquidas, fazendo a operação mais segura. Finalmente, levanta-se um equipamento e operação para o lavado e secado do pó de zinco.
