Abstract
SISTEMA PARA DIAGNóSTICO DE PARASITOS INTESTINAIS POR ANáLISE COMPUTADORIZADA DE IMAGENS A presente invenção consiste de um sistema para diagnóstico de parasitos intestinais de humanos e animais por análise computadorizada de imagens microscópicas obtidas de amostras fecais. O sistema utiliza equipamentos disponíveis no mercado, um kit parasitológico apropriado, e técnicas computacionais e parasitológicas, especialmente desenvolvidas para resolver o problema. As vantagens do sistema proposto em relação aos procedimentos adotados atualmente nos laboratórios de análises clínicas são: maior produtividade; maior sensibilidade diagnóstica; menor despesa com mão-de-obra; redução de utensílios e espaço físico no laboratório de parasitologia; rapidez, praticidade e segurança diagnóstica; diminuição do risco de contato e contaminação do profissional de laboratório; descarte de material analisado em recipiente apropriado para material tóxico, seguindo normas de biossegurança; inovação na liberação dos resultados através de imagens; resgate da credibilidade no diagnóstico de parasitoses intestinais por parte da classe médica, evitando o uso empírico, indiscriminado e ineficaz de medicamentos.
