A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para redução do tamanho de partícula de polissacarídeos semelhantes a vidro, O processo reduz, de maneira eficiente, o tamanho de partícula de polissacarídeos semelhantes a vidro selecionados a partir do grupo consistindo em polissacarideos semelhantes a vidro tendo um teor em umidade desde 0% a cerca de 13% e polissacarídeos semelhantes a vidro em estado vítreo, O processo compreende o uso de um moinho de rolos tendo pelo menos três pares de rolos sucessivos.
