Abstract

Preferably, the polyether amine compound is a diamine and most preferably the compound acts as a shale hydration inhibitor. The dialdehyde crosslinking agent reacts with the polyether amine compound and forms the polymeric material coating the solid. The polymer is substantially solubilized when the pH of the fluid is less than approximately 7.
