Abstract

PROCESSO DE RECUPERAÇçO DE NÍQUEL E COBALTO A PARTIR DE UM ELUATO EMPREGANDO EXTRAÇçO POR SOLVENTES E PRODUTO CONTENDO NÍQUEL OU COBALTO OBTIDO POR TAL PROCESSO. A presente invenção trata de processo que compreende as etapas abaixo: (a) beneficiamento ou preparação do minério contendo níquel e/ou cobalto, além de outros metais básicos; (b) lixiviação do minério: pode ocorrer de diversas formas e combinações; (c) resina em polpa: o produto obtido na lixiviação é submetido a tratamento com resina seguindo um fluxo contra- corrente, sendo eliminada a etapa de separação sólido-líquido; (d) extração por solvente: o eluato obtido após eluição da resina é submetido a operação em um ou mais estágios de extração por solvente, para separação de níquel e cobalto e um ou mais estágios para purificação do rafinado contendo níquel, caso necessário; (e) eletrólise de níquel: o rafinado obtido na etapa (d) ou a solução efluente da etapa anterior que contem níquel alimenta a etapa de eletrólise para obtenção do produto final na forma de níquel catodo; e (f) o cobalto juntamente com algumas impurezas estão contidos na solução de re-extração do solvente, a qual deve alimentar uma unidade de precipitação para recuperação de cobalto.NICKEL AND COBALT RECOVERY PROCESS FROM AN ELUTE USING SOLVENT EXTRACTION AND PRODUCT CONTAINING NICKEL OR COBALT OBTAINED BY SUCH PROCESS. The present invention relates to a process comprising the following steps: (a) beneficiation or preparation of nickel and / or cobalt-containing ore, in addition to other base metals; (b) ore leaching: may occur in various forms and combinations; (c) pulp resin: the product obtained from the leaching is subjected to resin treatment following a countercurrent flow, eliminating the solid-liquid separation step; (d) solvent extraction: the eluate obtained after elution of the resin is subjected to operation in one or more solvent extraction stages for nickel and cobalt separation and one or more stages for purification of nickel-containing raffinate, if necessary; (e) nickel electrolysis: the raffinate obtained in step (d) or the effluent solution of the previous nickel-containing stage feeds the electrolysis step to obtain the final product in the form of nickel cathode; and (f) cobalt along with some impurities are contained in the solvent extraction solution, which should feed a cobalt recovery precipitation unit.
