Abstract

FREIO A TAMBOR E CONJUNTO DE PLACA-NERVURA-SAPATA ASSOCIADO A ESTE TIPO DE FREIO, onde o Freio a tambor compreende um tambor da roda sobre uma placa (1) na qual é montada pelo menos urna sapata (2, 3) com uma lona de fricção (2a, 3a), uma nervura (9, 10) que aplica a sapata e sua lona de fricção contra uma borda interna do tambor, em resposta a um comando de frenagem; a sapata desliza sobre a placa numa direção essencialmente radial, em relação a esta placa; a placa compreende um relevo, transversal ao plano da placa, relevo este cujas paredes são transversais ao plano da placa e orientadas em direção ao centro da placa, guiando a sapata, durante um deslocamento radial, em direção à borda da placa; estas mesmas paredes laterais presas à placa sustentam, por tensão a sapata, ao longo de sua parede externa, ao experimentar um esforço tangencial, em relação à circunferência da placa.
