método para o controle do crescimento terminal de uma planta de algodão, e, composição adequada para o controle do crescimento terminal de uma planta de algodão. o controle do crescimento terminal de plantas de algodão, que resulta em uma produtividade melhorada, é obtido através do tratamento com: 1) um composto de inibição da enzima de protoporfirinogeno oxidase (inibição da ppo), 2) um composto regulador de crescimento da cultura (hgr), 3) um composto de ruptura de membrana de célula (cmd) ou 4). compostos de inibição de síntese de aminoácido (inibição de aas). o uso de carfentrazona-etil e de certos metabólitos da mesma é de interesse especial para o controle do crescimento de plantas de algodão.
