Abstract

PARAFUSO COM FORMAÇÃO DE ROSCA DE ALTO DESEMPENHO. A presente invenção refere-se a um parafuso para formação de rosca (10) tendo uma dureza de superfície mínima de HRC 56. O parafuso (10) pode formar roscas em uma peça de trabalho tendo uma dureza de superfície que excede HRC 23. Um método de endurecer a superfície de um parafuso (10) inclui enriquecer o parafuso com carbono (10), pelo menos a um nível de carbono de 0,48 e então esfriar rapidamente o parafuso (10). A seguir, o parafuso (10) é temperado de modo tal que a dureza da superfície não exceda a dureza do núcleo em mais do que 3 pontos Rockwell e tanto a superfície quanto o núcleo estejam em uma dureza Rockwell C33-C39. Subsequentemente, o ponto (16) é endurecido por indução e o parafuso é mais uma vez resfriado rapidamente. O parafuso (10) é novamente temperado, de modo tal que as roscas dianteiras (18) e as primeiras 3-4 roscas inteiras (22,24) estejam a uma dureza mínima Rockwell C56, preferivelmente a uma profundidade (26) de pelo menos 0,020 cm (0,008 polegadas) e o núcleo do prendedor (10) esteja a uma dureza Rockwell C33-C39.
