Abstract
"APARELHO INTRABUCAL PARA TRATAMENTO DE DISTúRBIOS DO SONO E RESPIRATóRIOS". A presente patente de invenção compreende um aparelho ortodóntico para tratamento de distúrbios do sono, tratamento de bruxismo, pacientes respiradores bucais e correção de deficiência da mandíbula. Aplica-se à ortodontia e ortopedia facial em pacientes com problemas de distúrbios respiratórios crónicos. Os aparelhos desenvolvidos atualmente por dentistas para o tratamento desses casos apresentam problemas de adaptação pelo paciente, pouca versatilidade e custo alto o que limita o seu uso entre as pessoas que deles necessitam. O aparelho consiste em uma placa acrílica superior (1) onde são instalados grampos metálicos (4), tubos telescópicos (3) e ganchos de metal (5), uma placa acrílica inferior onde são instalados hastes metálicas (6) e ganchos de metal (5) de acordo com os modelos de gesso ortodóntico moldado de acordo com a arcada de cada paciente. Sua aplicação proporciona melhora de distúrbios relacionados ao sono, de problemas relacionados ao bruxismo, pacientes respiradores bucais e correção de deficiências da mandíbula bem como melhora da qualidade respiratória e da saúde do paciente e maior bem estar deste.
