Abstract

MÉTODO DE SOLDAGEM POR FRICÇÃO LINEAR (FSW), SISTEMA DE SOLDAGEM POR FRICÇÃO LINEAR (FSW) E PEÇAS SOLDADAS POR FRICÇÃO LINEAR (FSW) PRODUZIDAS DESSE MODO. A presente invenção descreve processos e sistemas ue sulaagem por tricção linear (FSW) e os componentes soldados por fricção linear resultantes por meio dos quais as primeira e segunda peças são soldadas entre si usando uma primeira peça tendo componentes estruturais mutualmente ortogonais e uma região de junção entre elas o que define uma superfície de apoio de geometria predeterminada. Um rebaixo de uma ferramenta de FSW pode ser levado em contato de apoio com a superfície de apoio de modo que um pino que se estende a partir do rebaixo da ferramenta de FSW possa ser avançado em, e através de, um componente estrutural da primeira peça em um ângulo relativo a ele de modo a formar uma região de soldagem por friccção linear entre a primeira a segunda peça. Algumas modalidades preferidas fornecerão uma superfície de apoio que define uma geometria arqueadamente côncava, em cujo caso o rebaixo da ferramenta de FSW define uma geometria arqueadamente Convexa de forma conformada mateável com a superfície de apoio. De acordo com outras modalidades preferidas, a superfície de apoio define uma geometria arqueadamente convexa, em cujo caso o rebaixo da ferramenta de FSW define uma geometria arqueadamente côncava de forma conformada mateável com a superfície de apoio. De acordo com ainda outras modalidades preferidas, a superfície de apoio e o rebaixo de ferramenta de FSW são, cada um, planares.
