ABSTRACT
It is a multi-function rack structure for carrying a jack, and the rack mainly comprises a chassis, a seat and tool racks. The seat is fixed on one end of the chassis; the bottom of the chassis is mounted with casters, while the top surface of the chassis is furnished with grooves in a specific arrangement.
There is a sufficient space between the chassis and the seat for mounting a given type of jack. The grooves can also be used for placing repair tools. One side of the seat can be mounted with a tool rack for holding necessary tools. By means of the aforesaid structure, a device can be formed for carrying a jack, and being used as a tool and parts tray, a working rack, a stool or footstool, etc.

" A Multi-function Rack Structure for Carrying A Jack "
The present invention relates to a structure for carrying a jack; particularly, it relates to a device, which can normally be used for packing a jack, and can also be used for placing tools and parts ~hereon after the jack being removed, or used as a working rack, a seat or a footstool.
Normally, a jack is a weight-lifting tool being used widely for many purposes; especially, it is a indispens-able tool in mechanical repair and assembling operation.
A small type of jack not only is used in a specific working 1~ site, but it is also widely used in routine car maintenance work or in emergency repair work because o~ its partable feature; therefore, almost each car is provided with a jack.
A small type of jack is capable of lifting 2,000 lbs to 4,000 lbs, and the weight of its is ranging from several lbs lS to several decades of lbs. The manufacturer usually pack up such type of jack with a cardboard box having a given size; such cardboard box is merely used for packing up that kind of jack without being used for other purposes.
In view of the drawback of the conventional jack 20, packing container, the inventor has developed a multi-function rack structure for carrying a jack, and it mainly comprises a chassis, a seat, and tool racks. The bottom portion of the chassis is mounted with casters, while the top surface of ths chassis is furnished with specific grooves for holding a jack and the related tools and parts. The top of the chassis is provided with square abutments to be connected with the seat so as to hole the jack in place. The seat may also be used as a stool, or a working rack, or a footstool. A tool rack is also mounted at one side of the seat for holding repair tools;
therefore, the present invention is substantially a multi-function structure for packing a jack, holaing tools and parts, and being used as a working rack, and a footstool, etc.
The present invention will be described below in detail by way of example with reference to the accomp-anying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective and disassembled view of the embodiment according to the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the present invention after being assembled.
FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view of the second embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 4 illustrates the embodiment of the present inventlon being added with a tool rack.
FIG. 5 is another embodiment of the present invention as shown in FIG. 4.
FIG. 6 illustrates an embodiment of the present invention being added with a handle.
:~2~5~'J3 Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a rack structure according to the present invention, which mainly comprises a chassis 1 and a seat 2, The four corners under the chassis 1 are ~ounted with four casters 11 respectively. The chassis 1 is furnished with wall 12 around the four sides thereof; the top surface of the chassis 1 is provided with several grooves 13, and four square abutments 14, each of which has a round stud 15.
Beside each of the abutments 14, there is a plane part 16, which has a round stud 17 with an inner threaded :.
hole. The seat.2 has four legs 21 under its four corners.
The lower end of each leg 21 has a sunk plane 22 with a round hole 23. Each of the round holes 23 on the legs 21 can be exactly mounted over the corresponding round stud 15 of the s~uare abutment 14, or over the round stud 17 on the plane part 16 to be fixed in place with a screw 18 and a washer. The seat 2 is furnished with one set of parallel through slots 24~ By means of the grooves 13 on the top surface of the chassis 1, a suitable type of jack 3 and some related tools can be mounted thereon; then, the seat 2 is mounted over the chassis 2 by mating the round holes 23 of the legs 21 with the round studs 15 respectively before being fixed in place with screws 18 that are to be mounted in the threaded holes of the round studs 17. In that case, the whole rack will be in a ready shipping manner as shown in FIG. 2, and can also be moved on a floor surface by means of the cas-ters 11, or can be carried with hands hy holding the through slots 24. After the jack 3 being dismounted from the chassis l, the seat 2 may be mounted over the chassis 1 to form into an assembly to be used as a stool, or a working rack, or a footstool.
After the jack 3 being removed from the chassis 1, the grooves 13 thereon may be used as a tool rack or parts tray. FIG. 3 illustrates another assembled embodiment of the present invention, in which the seat 2 is mounted on the four plane parts 16 by means of screws 18. The function of that assembled .
embodiment is the same as that shown is FIG. 2 except the seat having a lower height.
FIG. 4 shows one side of the seat 2 being added with a tool rack 4. The seat 2 has several :
holes 25 for receiving the hooks 42 of the fitting pieces 41 on the tool rack 4. The tool rack 4 is ~
provided with a plurality of through holes 43 arranged in a regular space for inserting tools either for storage of use purpose.
FIG. 5 illustrates another embodiment of the tool rack 4; one side of the seat 2 is furnished with several screw holes 26, which are corresponding to the screw holes 44 on the fitting pieces 41 on the tool rack 4 so as to let the screws 45 pass through 5 3 r~
for fixing the tool rack to the seat. The fitting pieces 41 are coupled with the tool rack 4 by means of hinges 46. Each top end of the fitting pieces 41 has a perpendicular piece 411, and the bottom side of that perpendicular piece has a bead--shaped portion 41~, whereby the tool rack 4 can be he:Ld in folded position when not in use.
FIG. 6 is another embodiment of the present invention, in which another tool rack 5 i5 mounted across two sunk planes 22 at one end of the seat 2.
The tool rack 5 is to be fixed in place together with the seat 2 by means of screws 18; the tool rack 5 is furnished with through holes 51 for holding tools.
The present invention relates to a structure for carrying a jack; particularly, it relates to a device, which can normally be used for packing a jack, and can also be used for placing tools and parts ~hereon after the jack being removed, or used as a working rack, a seat or a footstool.
Normally, a jack is a weight-lifting tool being used widely for many purposes; especially, it is a indispens-able tool in mechanical repair and assembling operation.
A small type of jack not only is used in a specific working 1~ site, but it is also widely used in routine car maintenance work or in emergency repair work because o~ its partable feature; therefore, almost each car is provided with a jack.
A small type of jack is capable of lifting 2,000 lbs to 4,000 lbs, and the weight of its is ranging from several lbs lS to several decades of lbs. The manufacturer usually pack up such type of jack with a cardboard box having a given size; such cardboard box is merely used for packing up that kind of jack without being used for other purposes.
In view of the drawback of the conventional jack 20, packing container, the inventor has developed a multi-function rack structure for carrying a jack, and it mainly comprises a chassis, a seat, and tool racks. The bottom portion of the chassis is mounted with casters, while the top surface of ths chassis is furnished with specific grooves for holding a jack and the related tools and parts. The top of the chassis is provided with square abutments to be connected with the seat so as to hole the jack in place. The seat may also be used as a stool, or a working rack, or a footstool. A tool rack is also mounted at one side of the seat for holding repair tools;
therefore, the present invention is substantially a multi-function structure for packing a jack, holaing tools and parts, and being used as a working rack, and a footstool, etc.
The present invention will be described below in detail by way of example with reference to the accomp-anying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective and disassembled view of the embodiment according to the present invention.

:~2~5~'J3 Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a rack structure according to the present invention, which mainly comprises a chassis 1 and a seat 2, The four corners under the chassis 1 are ~ounted with four casters 11 respectively. The chassis 1 is furnished with wall 12 around the four sides thereof; the top surface of the chassis 1 is provided with several grooves 13, and four square abutments 14, each of which has a round stud 15.

The lower end of each leg 21 has a sunk plane 22 with a round hole 23. Each of the round holes 23 on the legs 21 can be exactly mounted over the corresponding round stud 15 of the s~uare abutment 14, or over the round stud 17 on the plane part 16 to be fixed in place with a screw 18 and a washer. The seat 2 is furnished with one set of parallel through slots 24~ By means of the grooves 13 on the top surface of the chassis 1, a suitable type of jack 3 and some related tools can be mounted thereon; then, the seat 2 is mounted over the chassis 2 by mating the round holes 23 of the legs 21 with the round studs 15 respectively before being fixed in place with screws 18 that are to be mounted in the threaded holes of the round studs 17. In that case, the whole rack will be in a ready shipping manner as shown in FIG. 2, and can also be moved on a floor surface by means of the cas-ters 11, or can be carried with hands hy holding the through slots 24. After the jack 3 being dismounted from the chassis l, the seat 2 may be mounted over the chassis 1 to form into an assembly to be used as a stool, or a working rack, or a footstool.
After the jack 3 being removed from the chassis 1, the grooves 13 thereon may be used as a tool rack or parts tray. FIG. 3 illustrates another assembled embodiment of the present invention, in which the seat 2 is mounted on the four plane parts 16 by means of screws 18. The function of that assembled .
embodiment is the same as that shown is FIG. 2 except the seat having a lower height.
FIG. 4 shows one side of the seat 2 being added with a tool rack 4. The seat 2 has several :
holes 25 for receiving the hooks 42 of the fitting pieces 41 on the tool rack 4. The tool rack 4 is ~
provided with a plurality of through holes 43 arranged in a regular space for inserting tools either for storage of use purpose.
FIG. 5 illustrates another embodiment of the tool rack 4; one side of the seat 2 is furnished with several screw holes 26, which are corresponding to the screw holes 44 on the fitting pieces 41 on the tool rack 4 so as to let the screws 45 pass through 5 3 r~
for fixing the tool rack to the seat. The fitting pieces 41 are coupled with the tool rack 4 by means of hinges 46. Each top end of the fitting pieces 41 has a perpendicular piece 411, and the bottom side of that perpendicular piece has a bead--shaped portion 41~, whereby the tool rack 4 can be he:Ld in folded position when not in use.
FIG. 6 is another embodiment of the present invention, in which another tool rack 5 i5 mounted across two sunk planes 22 at one end of the seat 2.
The tool rack 5 is to be fixed in place together with the seat 2 by means of screws 18; the tool rack 5 is furnished with through holes 51 for holding tools.
Claims (2)
1. A multi-function rack structure for carrying a jack comprising:
a chassis, of which the bottom being mounted with detachable casters, and the top surface thereof being furnished with specific grooves and adequate space for placing a given model of jack, and the related tools thereof; and said top surface of said chassis being also furnished with several abutments, and each of said abutments having a stud with a threaded hole; and at the same side of each of said abutments, a plane part being furnished, and each of said plane part having a stud with a threaded hole;
a seat, of which the four corners having four legs respectively at a suitable length, and each of the inner side legs having a sunk plane with a round hole to be mated with said stud on said abutment and said stud on said plane part so as to have said seat fixed together with said abutment on said chassis by means of screws, or fixed together with said stud on said plane part for the purpose of having an optional height to the seat; and one side of said seat being furnished with several hook holes or screw holes, and the top of said seat having a set of parallel slots;
tool rack, of which one side being furnished with several fitting pieces, and each of said fitting pieces having a hook to be engaged with a hook hole on said seat so as to mount said tool rack on one side of said seat; and the through holes on said tool rack being used for holding tools; and said tool rack also being connected with said fitting pieces by means of hinges; and said fitting pieces being furnished with screw holes, whereby said fitting pieces can be fixed to said seat by means of screws;
and the top of each of said fitting pieces being provided with a perpendicular piece having a depending bead-shaped portion which is used for holding said tool rack after said tool rack being folded up.

a seat, of which the four corners having four legs respectively at a suitable length, and each of the inner side legs having a sunk plane with a round hole to be mated with said stud on said abutment and said stud on said plane part so as to have said seat fixed together with said abutment on said chassis by means of screws, or fixed together with said stud on said plane part for the purpose of having an optional height to the seat; and one side of said seat being furnished with several hook holes or screw holes, and the top of said seat having a set of parallel slots;
tool rack, of which one side being furnished with several fitting pieces, and each of said fitting pieces having a hook to be engaged with a hook hole on said seat so as to mount said tool rack on one side of said seat; and the through holes on said tool rack being used for holding tools; and said tool rack also being connected with said fitting pieces by means of hinges; and said fitting pieces being furnished with screw holes, whereby said fitting pieces can be fixed to said seat by means of screws;
and the top of each of said fitting pieces being provided with a perpendicular piece having a depending bead-shaped portion which is used for holding said tool rack after said tool rack being folded up.
2. A multi-function rack structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein one end of said seat is mounted with a tool rack across two sunk planes of said seat, and said tool rack having holes for holding tools.
