Abstract

Les préservatifs et l'huile sont extraits du bois traité. Pour ce faire, on déchiquette le bois traité qu'on désire rebuter, on imprègne les copeaux avec une solution alcaline jusqu'à attendrissement des copeaux et modification de l'état chimique des produits à extraire. Le cas échéant, on peut faire subir aux copeaux un traitement avec de la vapeur saturée à pression superatmosphérique entre 170°C et 210°C suivi d'une détente explosive donnant des fragments de bois. On fait suivre d'une opération de raffinage dans un broyeur assurant le défibrage du bois. Il en résulte une libération substantielle des préservatifs des particules de bois au moins en partie défibrées. On recueille les préservatifs chimiques et l'huile séparément des particules de bois dans les phases aqueuses issues des étapes d'imprégnation, cuisson-détente et raffinage.
