Abstract

Nouvelle méthode pour préparer un polymère acrylique renfermant un groupe amino tertiaire non quaternisé ni converti en sel, et possédant une masse moléculaire élevée; elle consiste à faire réagir une solution aqueuse d'un monomère acrylique renfermant un groupe amino tertiaire avec du gaz carbonique pour former un monomère acrylique contenant un carbonate d'ammonium tertiaire, à homopolymériser le monomère ainsi obtenu ou à le copolymériser avec l'autre monomère vinylique copolymérisable avec le monomère obtenu, de façon à former un polymère contenant une unité structurelle d'un carbonate d'ammonium tertiaire, et à décarboxyler le polymère par chauffage et (ou) réduction de la pression; produit renfermant un polymère vinylique hydrosoluble à base d'au moins 5 % en moles de l'unité structurelle représentée par le groupe amino tertiaire ci-dessus, dont la viscosité intrinsèque [ .pi. ] est au moins de 1 dl/g; le produit est un excellent agent de déshydratation pour les boues.
