Abstract
Procédé de production d'une solution aqueuse acidifée renfermant un chlorate et un sulfate de métal alcalin. Le procédé consiste à introduire dans une cellule électrochimique une solution aqueuse renfermant un chlorate et un sulfate de métal alcalin, et à augmenter par voie électrochimique l'acidité de ladite solution aqueuse, le rendement en courant de la cellule étant maintenu en dessous de 70 %. On a également prévu un procédé de production de dioxyde de chlore consistant à prendre un réacteur possédant un milieu réactionnel acide et aqueux renfermant un chlorate et un sulfate de métal alcalin; à réduire les ions de chlorate dans ledit milieu réactionnel afin de former le dioxyde de chlore; à extraire du milieu réactionnel le dioxyde de chlore gazeux; à extraire le milieu réactionnel du réacteur et à l'introduire dans une cellule électrochimique sensiblement sans cristallisation de sulfate ou de chlorate; à acidifier par voie électrochimique ledit milieu réactionnel afin d'augmenter l'acidité et de diminuer la teneur en ions de métal alcalin; à réintroduire dans le réacteur le milieu réactionnel acidifié; et à ajouter au milieu réactionnel un complément de chlorate de métal alcalin avant ou après son passage dans la cellule électrochimique; le rendement en courant de la cellule électrochimique étant maintenu en dessous de 80 % environ.
