Abstract

Les montants métalliques (10) sont destinés à remplacer les montants en bois que l'on utilise dans la construction de parois ou de cloisons. Les extrémités des montants métalliques (10) ont une configuration qui permet au charpentier de les utiliser de manière pratique et rapide de la même façon qu'avec des montants en bois, pour la construction de parois de séparation ou des sections de celles-ci sans qu'il soit nécessaire de donner une formation supplémentaire au charpentier et sans avoir recours à de nouveaux outils. La configuration unique de ces montants métalliques présente un rebord (26, 28) aux deux extrémités mais uniquement d'un seul côté du montant métallique (10), ce qui permet à la surface intérieure des rebords (26, 28) de venir avantageusement en contact avec la surface verticale des lattes ou planches supérieures (plafond) et inférieures (plancher). Chaque extrémité de la partie centrale du montant possède un rebord en contact avec la surface horizontale exposée des planches supérieures et inférieures. Cette configuration unique permet de fixer de manière appropriée et peu coûteuse les montants métalliques en les clouant aux planches supérieures et inférieures se trouvant généralement, à des fins de montage, sur le plancher de l'immeuble en construction.
