Abstract

Adaptateur de débit binaire constant (CBR) s'utilisant avec un commutateur de mode de transfert asynchrone (ATM), de manière à pouvoir transmettre les données de source CBR de tout type par l'intermédiaire d'un système ATM. Les données CBR sont converties en un ou plusieurs mots d'une cellule de données ATM. Les informations d'horloge concernant les données de source CBR et les informations concernant les types de données sont également converties en mots d'une cellule de données ATM. Les mots sont mémorisés dans une mémoire tampon commune du commutateur ATM. Quand la transmission est disponible, la cellule de données ATM, y compris les données CBR, est extraite de la mémoire tampon et transmise. A réception de ces cellules de données ATM, celles-ci sont décodées afin de récupérer les données CBR.
