Abstract

Un accouplement, se fixant à la partie terminale d'un tuyau (1) qui comporte un épaulement circonférentiel (3a) situé dans cette partie terminale, comprend un corps (6) d'accouplement qui réceptionne la partie terminale du tuyau (1), et un ensemble d'éléments de mâchoire (24E-27E) qui, après que la partie terminale du tuyau (1) ait été réceptionnée dans le corps (6) d'accouplement, se déplacent vers une position fermée afin de venir en contact avec l'épaulement (3a) de sorte que l'accouplement soit bloqué sur l'extrémité du tuyau (1) et que ce dernier ne puisse être désaccouplé du fait que les éléments de mâchoire (24E-27E), agissant contre l'épaulement (3a), empêchent ce déplacement. L'accouplement peut être pourvu de jeux de mâchoires (24E-27E) à chaque extrémité afin de raccorder deux tuyaux (1, 2), chacun comportant des épaulements (3a, 4a) au niveau de leur partie terminale ou possédant des éléments de mâchoire à une extrémité, ainsi que des raccords traditionnels, tels que des filetages (64, fig. 6), des pièces d'insertion cannelées (121, fig. 2), des brides ou autres types de raccords à l'autre extrémité. Des valves (fig. 5) ou autres types de raccords peuvent être incorporés dans l'accouplement.
