Abstract

Cette invention concerne un système et un procédé de cartographie et d'ablation cardiaques faisant appel à un cathéter à électrodes multiples, lequel est introduit de manière percutanée dans le coeur d'un patient et peut se déployer à proximité de divers sites endocardiaques. Les électrodes peuvent être connectées à une unité de cartographie, une unité électrique d'ablation, une unité de stimulation, toutes ces unités étant commandées par ordinateur. Les signaux d'électrogrammes intracardiaques provenant d'un site d'origine de tachycardie sont détectés par les électrodes. Les temps d'arrivée de ces signaux sont traités en vue de l'élaboration de diverses cartes visuelles de manière à obtenir un guidage en temps réel lors de l'acheminement du cathéter vers le site d'origine de tachycardie. En variante, ce système comprend également un système d'imagerie physique capable de fournir diverses vues physiques par imagerie du cathéter et du coeur. Ces vues physiques sont incorporées aux diverses cartes visuelles de manière à produire une représentation plus physique. Une fois que les électrodes se trouvent sur le site d'origine de tachycardie, de l'énergie électrique est envoyée par l'unité électrique d'ablation afin d'effectuer ladite ablation.
