Abstract

L'invention a pour objet notamment un procédé d'hydrogénation catalytique de composés nitro aromatiques placés dans une solution ou dans une matière en fusion, en présence d'hydrogène et d'au moins un catalyseur à base d'un métal noble, ainsi que d'un catalyseur de nickel ou de cobalt, procédé dans lequel une quantité catalytique d'au moins un des composés du vanadium est présent, le vanadium présentant un état d'oxydation O, II, IV ou V. On a trouvé que, dans l'hydrogénation catalytique de composés nitro aromatiques, on peut empêcher presque totalement l'accumulation d'hydroxylamines en ajoutant des quantités catalytiques de composés de vanadium, ce qui permet d'obtenir des concentrations d'hydroxylamine inférieures à 1 %. Les produits hydrogénés obtenus sont plus blancs (plus purs) que ceux obtenus sans addition du composé de vanadium, car on n'obtient ainsi pratiquement aucun composé azo ou azoxy. L'hydrogénation, notamment la phase finale de celle-ci, se déroule plus vite qu'elle ne le fait sans ladite addition. En conséquence, ce procédé présente des avantages importants, notamment au regard de la constance dans la qualité et des économies réalisées.
