Abstract
Procédé de fonctionnement d'un moteur à combustion interne à cylindres multiples en cycle de quatre temps. Une première quantité de carburant est introduite dans chacun des cylindres (10) avant les 45 degrés précédant le point mort supérieur d'une course de combustion. De l'air dépassant considérablement celui qui produit une quantité stoechiométrique d'oxygène est également introduit dans chaque cylindre, de manière à obtenir un premier mélange à l'introduction du carburant, ledit mélange étant mis à feu afin d'obtenir une première combustion. Après l'achèvement de la première combustion, mais avant le point mort supérieur dans la même course de combustion ou peu après le point mort supérieur dans la course de dilatation, une deuxième quantité de carburant est introduite dans chaque cylindre sans apport d'air supplémentaire, de façon à constituer un deuxième mélange qui est mis à feu afin de produire une deuxième combustion distincte.
