Abstract
Cette invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant de mélanger un gaz et un liquide par introduction dudit gaz à l'intérieur d'une grande quantité de liquide. Ledit appareil supporte et fait tourner une pluralité d'éléments de décharge du type ailette (484) en dessous de la surface du liquide. Ces éléments comportent des surfaces de décharge (485) perforées, dirigées vers le haut, à travers lesquelles le gaz comprimé est rejeté à l'intérieur du liquide. De préférence, lesdits éléments comportent des parties inférieures non poreuses. De façon à contrer des forces à effet de "pompe de relèvement", de direction ascendante, créées par leur rotation, les éléments de décharge sont inclinés de façon à ce que leurs bords d'attaque soient plus bas que leurs bords de fuite. L'inclinaison de ces éléments et la vitesse de rotation sont équilibrées de façon à ce que l'angle d'incidence du liquide par rapport aux surfaces de décharge soit nul ou légèrement positif, ceci permettant un réel cisaillement efficace du gaz émergent en bulles de taille relativement faible.
