Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système de forage (10) destiné au forage de puits. Le système de forage comprend un train de tiges (20) présentant un trépan (50) entrainé par un moteur à boue (55). Des capteurs placés en des endroits sélectionnés dans le train de tiges mesurent en continu divers paramètres d'exploitation du puits, notamment la pression différentielle dans le moteur à boue, la vitesse de rotation du moteur à boue, le couple, la température, le différentiel de pression entre le fluide passant à travers le moteur à boue et les espaces annulaires entre le train de tiges et le puits, ainsi que la température du fluide circulant. Un circuit de gestion de fond de puits traite les signaux provenant de ces capteurs et il tramsmet les données traitées à la tête du puits à une unité de gestion (40) de surface, laquelle est programmée pour exploiter le système de forage ou aider l'opérateur à diriger les opérations de forage dans divers modes d'exploitation. Le système prévoit également un moyen destiné à contrôler l'état d'usure du moteur à boue et à estimer la durée de vie restante dudit moteur pendant les opérations de forage. Le train de tiges contient également deux préférences des dispositifs d'évaluation et de test de formation, tel qu'un dispositif à résistivité destiné à déterminer la résistivité de la formation, un dispositif à rayons gamma destiné à déterminer l'intensité de la formation au rayons gamma, un inclinomètre destiné à déterminer l'inclinaison du train de tiges près du trépan ainsi qu'un moyen destiné à déterminer l'azimuth du train de tiges.
