Abstract
L'invention concerne un système lecteur (10) d'inscriptions à guidage optique comprenant un transporteur (12) transportant un paquet (14) pourvu d'une adresse (20) de destination. Une source d'éclairage (24) définit une zone (26) permettant d'aider à positionner le paquet (14) sur le transporteur (12). On fait fonctionner un scanner (32) et une mémoire informatique (42) d'un système (40) de reconnaissance de caractères de manière à stocker une image d'une région définie par la zone éclairée (26) en mouvement. Un ensemble capteur (28), comprenant un capteur pour la hauteur et un capteur pour la réflectivité, se trouve en aval de la source d'éclairage (24). Le scanner (32) comprend des composants internes (33), bien connus des spécialistes, qui effectuent les opérations de focalisation automatique du scanner en réponse aux informations sur la hauteur, et qui règlent le gain du scanner (32) en réponse aux informations sur la réflectivité, de sorte que le scanner (32) génère une image claire de la face supérieure du paquet (14) lorsque celui-ci passe sous le scanner (32). On place un photocapteur (45) en amont du scanner (32) pour détecter la présence du paquet (14). Les informations vidéo générées par le scanner (32) ne peuvent être stockées dans la mémoire informatique (42) que lorsque le faisceau (50) du photocapteur (45) est brisé. On peut imposer un temps de temporisation pour tenir compte de la distance comprise entre le faisceau (50) et la ligne de balayage (34). Dans une des variantes de l'invention, une source d'éclairage (224) mobile définit une plage (230) se déplaçant à la même vitesse que le transporteur (212) afin d'aider au positionnement du paquet (214) sur le transporteur (212).
