Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé d'exploitation du travail mécanique d'un gaz de combustion dans des moteurs à combustion interne et des moteurs alternatifs à combustion interne (100) de mise en oeuvre du procédé. Dans ses modes de réalisation préférés, le procédé comprend les étapes consistant (i) à produire une charge d'air, (ii) à réguler la température, la densité et la pression de la charge d'air, (iii) à transférer la charge d'air vers un cylindre générateur (7) du moteur de sorte qu'une charge d'air, ayant une masse et une densité sélectionnées dans une plage de niveaux de masse et de densité allant d'une masse et d'une densité sous-atmosphérique à une masse et une densité supérieures aux masses et densités atmosphériques, est introduite dans le cylindre générateur; et (iv) à comprimer ensuite la charge d'air à un rapport de compression inférieur à la normale; (v) à obtenir un mélange combustible à partir d'une quantité prédéterminée d'air de charge et de carburant; (vi) à provoquer l'allumage du mélange dans le cylindre moteur; (vii) à laisser le gaz de combustion se détendre contre un piston fonctionnant dans les cylindres moteurs, le rapport d'expansion des cylindres moteurs étant sensiblement supérieur au rapport de compression des cylindres moteurs du moteur.
