Abstract
La présente invention se rapporte à des câbles structuraux contrôlés par des capteurs acoustiques, notamment les câbles formés par un grand nombre de fils et utilisés dans les ponts suspendus ou les ponts à haubans. La rupture d'un fil faisant partie du câble produit un signal acoustique lequel est enregistré puis localisé à partir de son heure d'arrivée relative au niveau des deux capteurs. De l'endroit où les capteurs sont disposés, sur le massif d'ancrage du câble ou sur des bandes le long d'un câble de pont suspendu, ils peuvent également surveiller tout glissement de câbles par rapport à la bande ou au massif d'ancrage du câble. De préférence, le système utilise des capteurs à haute résistance et un câble armé. On distingue les sorties des différents signaux par une technique de multiplexage ou par l'identification des signaux. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, les capteurs sont disposés autour d'un câble de manière à enregistrer les signaux lorsqu'un câble se rompt, les signaux étant tracés pour permettre la localisation du fil cassé dans la section du câble.
