Abstract

L'invention concerne des compositions conçues pour être implantées chez l'animal et contenant un polymère biocompatible et biodégradable dont la réticulation crée un hydrogel. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, ce polymère est réticulé par des ions multivalents, de préférence, par un sel soluble d'un ion multivalent et un sel passablement soluble d'un ion multivalent, ces constituants étant combinés en un mélange constituant un hydrogel injectable partiellement durci, la consistance de ce mélange permettant d'implanter ce dernier chez l'animal, dans lequel il forme in situ un hydrogel totalement durci. Ce mélange contient également, de préférence, un agent séquestrant en concurrence avec le polymère biocompatible afin de fixer l'ion multivalent de réticulation. Cette composition peut contenir des cellules vivantes ou non. Elle concerne également des procédés servant à implanter cette composition chez l'animal sous forme éventuelle d'implant contenant des cellules vivantes.
