Abstract
La présente invention concerne des pigments de carbonate de calcium (44 et 58) à brillance, blancheur et opacité élevées pouvant être obtenus par la séparation magnétique (34 et 50). Plus particulièrement, elle concerne une composition de matière comprenant des pigments de carbonate de calcium (44 et 58) à haute brillance obtenus par la séparation magnétique (34 et 50) effectuée sur une pulpe adéquatement dispersée et de viscosité minimale afin d'optimiser la libération et l'élimination des contaminants, les impuretés étant libérées par broyage et en cours du broyage (32 et 46) préalable à la séparation magnétique (34 et 50) tout en maintenant ladite pulpe à des températures égales ou supérieures à 50 ·C. L'invention concerne également la séparation magnétique (34 et 50) d'une dispersion d'une pulpe à viscosité minimale en vue de séparer les particules grossières des particules ultrafines dans des pulpes comprenant 5 % à 65 % de solides par l'enlèvement et la séparation sélective, au moins en partie, des constituants dolomitiques des systèmes minéraux du carbonate de calcium.
