Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de matériaux de type papier présentant une résistance à l'humidité améliorée. Ledit procédé consiste : (a) à préparer une suspension de pâte à papier chimique ou semi-chimique écrue ou semi-blanchie ou une suspension de pâte à papier provenant de fibres recyclées ; (b) à traiter la pâte à papier à l'aide d'une enzyme d'oxydation du phénol et d'un médiateur ; et (c) à égoutter la pâte à papier traitée dans une machine à fabriquer le papier de manière à éliminer l'eau de traitement et à produire le matériau de type papier. De préférence, on chauffe le matériau de type papier après réalisation de l'opération c). L'invention concerne également un procédé de production de carton ondulé ou de récipients en carton ondulé, ainsi que l'utilisation combinée d'une enzyme d'oxydation du phénol et d'un médiateur pour la production d'un matériau de type papier présentant une résistance à l'humidité améliorée. Le procédé selon l'invention permet d'améliorer la résistance à l'humidité des matériaux de type papier sans utiliser de résines anti-humidité, ce qui rend le produit plus facile à réutiliser.
