Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un gestionnaire de transport d'un protocole de contrôle de transmission (TCP) pour un intermédiaire de réseau. Le gestionnaire examine tous les segments dans un flux de données TCP/IP entre deux noeuds. Le gestionnaire tient à jour une liste de modifications apportées par un module d'application à un segment de données dans un flux de données et utilise cette liste pour s'assurer que les numéros de séquence pour le récepteur et l'émetteur désignent les mêmes segments de données. Cette liste de modifications sert aussi à réappliquer des modifications aux paquets retransmis. Les segments de données ne sont pas reconnus jusqu'à ce que le récepteur accuse réception d'un segment, éliminant ainsi la nécessité de mettre en tampon des segments de données.
