Abstract

L'invention concerne un broyeur rotatif permettant de réduire un minerai en particules. Le broyeur rotatif comprend une chambre de broyage primaire (18), une chambre de broyage secondaire (20) et une chambre d'évacuation (22). Le matériau introduit dans la chambre de broyage primaire (18) est dévié par un rotor à impact (16) qui brise en éclat ledit matériau et envoi les particules obtenues vers une pluralité de barres de broyage (28). Ces barres de broyage (28) réduisent encore plus lesdites particules et les renvoient en les déviant vers le rotor, de sorte que les particules réduites entrent en contact avec un matériau fraîchement brisé, provoquant l'attrition. De plus, le broyeur rotatif comprend un ventilateur d'extraction (14) conçu pour produire un écoulement d'air partant de la chambre de broyage primaire (20), traversant la chambre de broyage secondaire et pénétrant dans la chambre d'évacuation. Cet écoulement d'air transporte les particules réduites dans la chambre de broyage secondaire dans laquelle ces particules sont projetées contre des moyens de réduction (32). Ces moyens de réduction (32) sont placés entre la chambre de broyage secondaire (20) et la chambre d'évacuation (22) de sorte que seules les particules présentant une grosseur inférieure à une taille donnée puissent pénétrer dans la chambre d'évacuation. Le matériau présentant une taille suffisamment réduite pénètre dans la chambre d'évacuation dans laquelle il est divisé en particules fines et en particules plus lourdes. Plus particulièrement, les particules plus lourdes contenues dans l'écoulement d'air retombent et se rassemblent sur le fond de la chambre d'évacuation jusqu'à ce qu'un poids suffisant s'accumule et provoque l'ouverture de la porte à balancier (40), ce qui permet d'évacuer le matériau lourd contenu dans le broyeur rotatif.
