Abstract
Cette invention a trait à une technique, ainsi qu'à l'appareil correspondant, permettant de surveiller chez un sujet la survenue d'une condition particulière durant l'état de sommeil et ce, par application d'une sonde externe (2) sur une région périphérique du corps dudit sujet, ce qui permet de surveiller le volume du réseau vasculaire périphérique au niveau de cette région périphérique et de déterminer la condition d'état de sommeil en fonction des données de sortie fournies par la sonde (2). Parmi diverses conditions d'état de sommeil détectées grâce aux techniques de cette invention, figurent des réveils, le syndrome du mouvement périodique des jambes, des apnées, des hypopnées, des résistances des voies aériennes supérieures à l'écoulement gazeux, un mode de respiration de Cheynes-Stokes et des phases paradoxales du sommeil.
