Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de raffiner de l'huile animale ou végétale. L'huile non traitée est constituée de triglycérides et d'autres composés tels que des acides gras, des mono et diglycérides formés par estérification d'un ou deux groupe(s) hydroxy de glycérol à l'aide d'un acide organique, de phosphoglycérides contenant au moins un atome de phosphore, de molécules provenant de métabolismes secondaires tels que des stéroïdes, des tocophérols, des carotènes, et des sucres. Ledit procédé consiste à traiter de l'huile non traitée à l'aide de silice absorbante. La silice absorbe les composés autres que les triglycérides de l'huile et n'absorbe pas ou absorbe peu les triglycérides. La silice est séparée de l'huile afin de produire de l'huile raffinée. On peut ensuite utiliser la silice comme additif pour nourrir les animaux.
