Abstract
La présente invention concerne un ensemble cathode (2) destiné à une cuve d'électrolyse pour le procédé Hall-Héroult. Cet ensemble comporte un bloc de cathode (4) qui reçoit deux barres de cathode collectrices primaires (12) et une barre de cathode collectrice secondaire (14) placée entre les deux autres. Chacune des barres collectrices primaires (12) dispose avec le bloc de cathode (4) d'une interface électrique au moins égale à l'interface électrique entre la barre collectrice secondaire (14) et le bloc de cathode (4). Les barres collectrices primaires (12) sont électriquement raccordées au bloc de cathode uniquement le long d'une partie inférieure du bloc de cathode, la barre collectrice secondaire (14) étant entièrement raccordée au bloc de cathode. Cet agencement améliore la distribution du courant dans de la totalité de l'ensemble cathode par une réduction maximale de la quantité de courant traversant les extrémités du bloc cathode.
