Abstract

L'invention porte sur une interface de données transférant des données numériques entre un hôte et un client via une voie de communication en utilisant des structures de paquets liées ensemble de manière à constituer un protocole de communication de transfert d'un ensemble présélectionné de données de commande numérique et de présentation. Un protocole de signal est utilisé par des contrôleurs de liens pour créer, émettre, et recevoir les paquets formant le protocole de communications et grouper les données numériques en un ou plusieurs types de paquets dont l'un au moins, qui réside dans le dispositif hôte, est relié au client via une voie de communications. Ladite interface est un moyen mécanisme économique, peu puissant, bidirectionnel et très rapide de transfert de données sur des liaisons sérielles à courte portée, et qui se prête au montage dans des connecteurs miniatures et dans des câbles souples fins spécialement adaptés au raccordement d'éléments d'affichage tels que les micro-affichages à des ordinateurs portables et à des dispositifs de communication sans fil.
