Abstract
La présente invention a trait à un joint d'étanchéité (5) destiné à être utilisé à des températures et des pressions extrêmes. Il comporte des ressorts internes aux organes d'étanchéité et est apte à fournir une étanchéité à des pressions différentielles venant de directions opposées. Un anneau d'espacement (50) empêche le contact entre des composants de joint à orientation opposée (42, 46, 48, 54, 58, 60) et empêche en même temps la rupture des ressorts et du joint sous des conditions de contraintes extrêmes. L'ensemble de joint est autocentré dans un trou de joint de fond de puits et peut être utilisé sur des outils délivrés par câble métallique, où les forces d'insertion sont minimales. Le joint peut résister à des pressions différentielles dépassant 13,500 livres par pouce carré et des températures supérieures à 350 degrés Farenheit.
