Abstract

Une méthode de coulage d'un objet, habituellement une roue de matériel de chemin de fer, est décrite. Un moule en graphite doté d'une partie de dessous et d'une partie de dessus nécessite plusieurs ouvertures de masselottes dans la partie de dessus pour assurer la précision des dimensions de la roue de matériel de chemin de fer coulée en permettant au métal fondu de continuer de couler par les ouvertures de masselottes de la cavité de la roue coulée lors du refroidissement initial. Les ouvertures de masselottes sont bordées avec un matériau isolant amélioré de manière appropriée, le matériau isolant étant ajouté entre une ouverture de masselotte usinée dans la partie de dessus du moule en graphite et un mandrin inséré dans l'ouverture de masselotte.
