Abstract
L'invention concerne une coquille de coulée continue destinée à la coulée de métaux liquides, notamment de matériaux d'acier, à des vitesses de coulée élevées, sous forme de barres de coulée polygonales (1) en billette, en bloom ou en ébauche et similaires. Ladite coquille est composée d'une coquille tubulaire (2) en cuivre ou alliage de cuivre dont la section transversale d'entrée (3), côté entrée de coulée (4), présente une augmentation de section (5) par rapport à la section transversale de sortie (6), côté sortie de barre (7), ainsi que des coins arrondis (8). L'invention vise à améliorer technologiquement ladite coquille de coulée en matière de processus de refroidissement. A cet effet, la forme géométrique (9) de la section transversale et les dimensions correspondantes (10) sont choisies en fonction de la capacité locale de dissipation de la chaleur de solidification pour une vitesse de coulée définie, et de la dilatation de la coquille tubulaire (2).
