Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé pour administrer des médicaments à une pluralité de patients dans un établissement médical. Un système préféré comprend un programme de flux de travail destiné à générer un ordonnanceur, ledit ordonnanceur étant conçu pour coordonner l'administration de médicaments aux patients, une armoire à pharmacie, subordonnée audit ordonnanceur et destinée à stocker les médicaments et à les distribuer à un utilisateur autorisé pour l'administration aux patients, le programme de flux de travail communicant à l'armoire à pharmacie des informations spécifiques aux patients en rapport avec l'administration des médicaments, y compris l'ordonnance médicale pour chaque patient, et un chariot à médicaments, couplé à l'armoire à pharmacie et destiné à donner des instructions à l'utilisateur autorisé en rapport avec l'administration de ces médicaments à chacun desdits patients. Le chariot comprend une pluralité de tiroirs destinés à stocker des médicaments à administrer à chaque patient, mais aucun tiroir à médicaments n'est déterminé comme spécifique à tel ou autre patient jusqu'à ce que le chariot à médicaments reçoive des informations spécifiques au patient, et un processeur de chariot, les tiroirs du chariot étant remplis avec des médicaments provenant de l'armoire à pharmacie pour chaque patient associé à chaque tiroir de chariot spécifique au patient, en fonction de l'ordonnance médicale correspondante pour chaque patient.
