Abstract
Un pneu structurellement soutenu comprend une bande annulaire extérieure, et une pluralité de rayons s'étendant transversalement au travers et radialement vers l'intérieur depuis la bande annulaire et ancrée dans une roue ou un moyeu. La bande annulaire peut comporter en outre une couche de cisaillement, au moins une première membrane collée à la face radialement intérieure de la couche de cisaillement, et au moins une seconde membrane collée à la face radialement extérieure de la couche de cisaillement. Le rayonnage présente de préférence une section en coupe transversale à la bande annulaire. La section en coupe a un profil formé par des segments de droite joints par un rayon de raccordement. Le profil de la section en coupe a une hauteur HC et une profondeur maximale D supérieure à cinq pour cent de la hauteur N et moins de trente pour cent de la largeur maximale W. Le profil présente un angle alpha formé par une ligne tangente au profil par rapport à l'horizontale et égal à au moins dix degrés entre le point radialement le plus extérieur et radialement le plus intérieur dudit profil. Le rayon de courbure minimal RR du profil est au moins égal à vingt pour cent de la hauteur HC de la section en coupe.
