Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition traçante IR non toxique qui, lorsqu'elle est incorporée dans un projectile traçant IR qui est ensuite mis à feu, génère une trace IR faiblement visible. Cette composition traçante IR est une composition traçante IR non toxique contenant du bore métallique ou environ 45 à environ 60 % en poids d'au moins un chlorate de potassium ou de nitrate de sodium ; environ 5 à environ 16 % en poids d'un combustible métallique se compose de bore métallique ; éventuellement, environ 15 à environ 25 % en poids ou environ 40 à environ 50 % en poids d'un combustible non métallique qui se compose de salicylate de sodium ; environ 5 à environ 20 % en poids d'un retardateur qui se compose de carbonate de fer ou carbonate de magnésium ou carbonate de calcium ; environ 5 à environ 15 % en poids d'un premier liant qui se compose de résinate de calcium ; et jusqu'à 7,5 % en poids d'un second liant de résine synthétique qui se compose d'un copolymère d'hexafluoropropylène et de fluorure de vinylidène ou d'acétobutyrate de cellulose, le pourcentage total desdits ingrédients étant de 100 %. Un nouveau projectile traçant IR contenant ladite composition traçante IR pour générer une trace IR faiblement visible est également décrit.
