Abstract

Méthode permettant dinduire de la biréfringence dans un guide dondes optique. Selon linvention, la gaine du guide dondes est irradiée dune énergie dont lintensité est suffisante pour induire un stress dans le guide dondes optique, de façon à causer une multitude de régions soumises à un stress espacées dans la gaine du guide dondes optiques. Ainsi, linvention comporte de 10 à 5 000 régions espacées par mm, et les régions soumises à un stress sont à proximité du cur, à une distance supérieure à 2 microns de linterface cur-gaine. Le présent guide dondes présente de nombreux usages, par exemple un capteur en fibre.
