Abstract

Un appareil flexible et une méthode pour déterminer à distance les dimensions d'une cavité dans une mine sont présentés. L'appareil et la méthode ne nécessitent pas de mise à niveau mécanique avant le balayage d'une cavité. De plus, l'appareil peut fonctionner dans une variété aux orientations complexes et déterminer sa position et l'azimut à l'aide de cibles ayant des positions connues pour faciliter une transformation des données mesurées en un système de coordonnées existant pour affichage à l'intention d'un utilisateur. Un compas numérique peut également être utilisé facultativement pour déterminer l'azimut de l'appareil.
