Abstract

Une installation de boîte de prise de courant ne comporte aucune plaque de couverture exposée, seulement la portion fonctionnelle de la composante électrique est visible sur la surface murale. La portion fonctionnelle de la composante peut être une prise de courant, un jack, un interrupteur, un bouton ou une lumière, par exemple. Le corps de la composante électrique est logé à lintérieur de la boîte de prise, aussi appelé boîte de jonction, le côté ouvert de la boîte de prise étant couvert par un dispositif de plaque comportant une ouverture qui entoure étroitement la portion fonctionnelle de la composante. La surface du dispositif de plaque est couverte dune pâte de panneau mural, ou dun autre matériau de finition murale, qui est mélangé à la surface avoisinante du mur de sorte que seule la partie fonctionnelle de la composante est exposée. Le revêtement mural peut également être du lambris, de la pierre, des carreaux ou dautres matériaux similaires.
