Abstract

Un joint de rail sert à combler l'espace entre un rail et un matériau de surface avoisinant dans un croisement de rail ou une construction de voie, où le joint de rail peut être retiré de l'espace et être réinstallé dans l'espace sans endommager le matériau de surface avoisinant. Plus particulièrement, le joint de rail est formé au moyen dun élément à charnière intégral qui comporte une position fermée et une position ouverte où une portion supérieure du joint de rail est dégagée et se prolonge vers le haut en s'éloignant dune portion inférieure du corps de joint et donne une souplesse supplémentaire au corps de joint. Pour retirer le joint de rail de l'espace adjacent au rail, le joint de rail peut être manipulé de sorte à être retiré de l'espace. Pour réinstaller le joint de rail, la souplesse supplémentaire fournie par l'élément à charnière permet au joint de rail dêtre manipulé et déformé au besoin de sorte à être réinstallé dans l'espace ouvert. Le joint de rail peut aussi être formé, au moyen de creux d'ancrage, à des extrémités opposées du corps de joint de rail afin de recevoir des clés dancrage qui aident à fixer le joint de rail à lintérieur de l'espace et empêcher le mouvement longitudinal et le déplacement du joint de rail avec le temps.
