Abstract

Un appareil et des méthodes permettant ladministration dune stimulation magnétique transcrânienne (TMS) sont décrits. Ledit appareil comprend une bobine TMS qui, lorsquelle est mise sous tension, génère un champ électrique sensiblement parallèle à un axe longitudinal de la bobine et sensiblement perpendiculaire à une surface de ladite bobine. Un appareil permettant ladministration dune TMS, dans lequel une bobine est adaptée à un élément robotique afin deffectuer une commande et une administration assistées par ordinateur, est également décrit. Des méthodes de planification et dadministration de TMS dans lesquelles on utilise des images dun sujet pour planifier, positionner et orienter la bobine TMS afin deffectuer une administration précise, sont aussi décrites. On décrit, en outre, des bobines TMS de conceptions uniques permettant de mieux focaliser et diriger une stimulation magnétique.
